Color Mixing Basics for Oil and Acrylic Painters

This hands-on class is designed to enhance your ability to see and mix color accurately in your artwork. Through a series of engaging palette exercises, you will delve into the fundamentals of color theory, learning how to create harmonious color schemes and improve your overall painting technique. Each session will culminate in a simple still life exercise, allowing you to apply the principles you have learned in a practical context. All necessary supplies will be provided, so come ready to explore the vibrant world of color! Whether you are a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this class offers valuable insights for artists of all levels.

Beginning Sewing for Adults

This class is for those with little to no sewing experience. It will get you familiar with your sewing machine and teach you the basics. Each class will consist of working on a simple project while building on your knowledge. We will go over the mechanics of your sewing machine, sewing terminology, different fabrics and their usage, straight and zigzag stitches, turning, mitered corners, how to insert a zipper, and the correct way to take measurements. Many of you have a sewing machine sitting in your closet that you will need to bring. There is a limited number of machines available if you do not have your own. A basic supply list will be supplied by the instructor for each class project.

Glass Fusion - Sun Catcher Workshop

Put some sunshine in your window! Everything you will need is included in this two-hour glass fusion workshop. Each student will make an 8" x 8" suncatcher using their own creative design! All materials are included and fired projects will be available two weeks after class.

Intermediate Drawing: Expanding Your Artistic Skills

Drawing on Toned Paper: Discover how to effectively utilize toned paper to create dynamic contrasts and enhance your drawings.
Colored Pencils and Pastels: Experiment with these versatile mediums to add color and texture to your work, mastering blending, layering, and shading techniques.

Watercolor with Mixed Media - Intermediate Level - ONLINE CLASS

Grades 9 - Adult
This is a class for students who would like to explore watercolor painting from home. Students will also learn how to use additional mixed media such as color inks, watercolor pencils, and other media and techniques incorporated with watercolor. The class is open to all students who wish to experience water painting techniques. Zoom instruction includes step-by-step projects designed to guide you through the painting process from start to finish. The course will offer a variety of special techniques and approaches to making paintings of different subjects. Students will work on paintings along with the instructor as she demonstrates the steps. You will also receive emails with detailed information and examples so that you may practice further or complete a piece at home. Each session will also be recorded. Students will receive a supply list after they register.
The cost is $128 plus supplies.

Homeschool Art Adventures

This class introduces your child to basic art skills and gives them an opportunity to gain experience as young artists. Art Adventures has been designed for 5 to 8-year-old children to strengthen their knowledge in art and further develop art vocabulary and skills. With activities such as painting, drawing, mixed media, and printmaking, students explore their creativity with exciting and fun projects each semester. Both new and returning students will continue to work on developing their skills with individualized instruction in a small group setting. Small class size allows for individual attention in a fun and inviting environment!

Homeschool Creative Constructions

Grades 3-6
Creative Constructions is designed for students who have taken Art Adventures or have the basic art skills needed to create more complex activities and projects. This class will allow young creatives to construct original pieces of art and to learn more about painting, drawing, mixed media, narrative art, and printmaking. Creative Constructions students will be introduced to a variety of art materials and learn new artistic techniques while reinforcing the basic elements of art. For example, students will work with scratchboard, learn perspective drawing, try their hand at watercolor and acrylic painting, and learn about master artists. Small class size allows for individual attention in a fun and inviting environment!
