Pushing Your Creative Boundaries
with Donna Bird

Adult
Break out of your routine and reignite your creativity in this fun, exploratory painting class. Pushing Your Creative Boundaries invites oil, acrylic, and watercolor painters to take a single subject and interpret it in multiple ways. Each week, you’ll approach your subject with a new lens—starting with a monochromatic color scheme to establish strong composition and value. From there, we’ll build on your foundation using two-color and four-color schemes, and finally introduce pattern, texture, and unexpected elements to push your artistic limits.
This class is perfect for artists who feel stuck, want to loosen up, or simply crave more from their creative practice. Bring your own source material and come ready to experiment! Students will receive a supply list after they register.
The cost is $134 plus supplies.
1:00 pm - 3:30 pm, Tuesdays, September 2, 9, 16, 23.

Power in a Limited Palette Workshop
with Donna Bird

Adult
Discover the freedom found within restraint. In this one-day workshop, you’ll explore the surprising power of using a limited palette—not as a restriction, but as a tool for achieving beautiful color harmony, enhancing your mixing skills, and setting a unified mood in your paintings.
Working from a fall-inspired still life set in natural light, you’ll be guided through techniques such as underpainting, wet-into-wet application, palette knife texture, and creative mark-making with alternative tools. Autumn’s rich organic subjects provide the perfect introduction to this approach, whether you’re brand new to limited palettes or looking to deepen your practice.
It’s a full day of exploration, skill-building, and inspiration—designed to stretch your creativity in all the best ways. Some supplies provided. Best suited for oil and acrylic painters with some experience. Students will receive a supply list after they register.
The cost is $102 plus supplies.
