Exploring Printmaking

Ages 13- ADULT
Learn multiple printing techniques in this introductory class. We will carve and print a linoleum block, create monoprints, and learn many more exploratory techniques.

Watercolor with Mixed Media - Intermediate Level

Grades 9 - Adult
This class continues the study of watercolor techniques introduced in Fall Semester’s Intermediate level class. Students will also learn how to use additional illustration and paint media such as gouache, chalk pastel, pen and ink, watercolor pencils, collage, and other interesting media incorporated with watercolor. The class is open to all students who wish to experience water painting techniques. In-person instruction includes step-by-step projects designed to guide you through the painting process from start to finish. The course will offer a variety of special techniques and approaches to making paintings of different subjects. Students will work on paintings along with the instructor as she demonstrates the steps. Supplies are provided.

Painting Workshop

Grades 9 - Adult
This 2-day workshop is for the person who wants to try painting without having prior knowledge of painting. Students will be creating a beautiful vase of flowers using water-solouble oil paint. The style is intuitive, casual, and abstract. The canvas is a 9"x12" flat board which will fit a frame of your choice (not included). This is a great workshop to take with family or friends!
You can also reserve a private workshop with a minimum of 6 guests! Please call the McKinney Center to make this reservation.

Glass Fusion - Sun Catcher Workshop

Grade 9- Adult
A two-hour glass fusion workshop making a one of a kind sun catcher with your design on it. Put some sunshine in your window! Each student can make two. All materials are included and fired projects will be available two weeks after class.

Homeschool- Creative Construction

Grades 3-6
Creative Constructions is designed for students who have taken Art Adventures or have the basic art skills needed to create more complex activities and projects. This class will allow young creatives to construct original pieces of art and to learn more about painting, drawing, mixed media, narrative art, and printmaking. Creative Constructions students will be introduced to a variety of art materials and learn new artistic techniques while reinforcing the basic elements of art. For example, students will work with scratchboard, learn perspective drawing, try their hand at watercolor and acrylic painting, and learn about master artists. Small class size allows for individual attention in a fun and inviting environment!

This is a class for students who would like to explore watercolor painting from home. It continues the study of watercolor and gouache techniques introduced in Fall Semester’s Intermediate level online class. Students will also learn how to use additional illustration media such as pastel, watercolor pencils, and pen and ink incorporated with watercolor. The class is open to all students who wish to experience water painting techniques. Zoom instruction includes step-by-step projects designed to guide you through the painting process from start to finish. The course will offer a variety of special techniques and approaches to making paintings of different subjects. Students will work on paintings along with the instructor as she demonstrates the steps. You will also receive emails with detailed information and examples so that you may practice further or complete a piece at home. Each session will also be recorded. Students will receive a supply list after they register.
Cost is $109 plus supplies

Bullet Journaling Workshop

Ages 13- ADULT
Join us in creating a customizable planner/journal using this unique way to stay organized. Bullet journaling has gained in popularity due to its fun and creative flexibility. Lots of information and resources will be provided. Bring your own journal or start a new one provided by the class. Great for busy teens or college students.
