Acoustic Guitar - Private Lessons - APRIL - Kids & Teens - 30 minutes

Ages 7 - 17
These 30-minute private lessons are for all levels of skill. Students will learn basic terminology and foundational aspects of playing the guitar, chords, and melodies. Class is less theory and more practical application but can also be adapted to the needs and wants of each student. Students will need to supply their own guitar, strings, and picks. Four 30-minute classes, one per week. Sessions will re-start every 4 weeks. You may register for additional sessions at your leisure.
Once you register for the class, you will receive an email or phone call to schedule your day and time for lessons. Four lessons/dates will be scheduled in this series. Lessons will restart each month. Go ahead and register for future months if you wish. There are no refunds or make-ups for missed lessons.
If you prefer a one-hour lesson, please sign up for that option instead.

These 60-minute private lessons are for individuals of all skill levels who are looking for an easy-going, fun environment.
Vocal lessons are for individuals of all skill levels who are looking for an easy-going, fun environment. Students will learn to sing with confidence. Students will learn proper vocal technique. There will be a focus on the four basic principles of singing, breath support, relaxed vocal chords, diction, and ear training.
Four one-hour classes, one per week. Sessions will re-start every 4 weeks. You may register for additional sessions at your leisure.

Garden Art Bird Bath

Grade 7- Adult
This special spring class will be dedicated to creating a bird bath or pollinator pool. We will use several different techniques in clay to build a beautiful and sturdy pedestal style bath for your outdoor space. No prior clay experience is necessary only enthusiasm for the project.

Canning Basics

Adult
This course will cover the basics of the two most popular ways of preserving food; water bath canning and pressure canning. We will go over publications from the National Center For Home Food Preservation as well as from the University of Tennessee Extension Office that will address food safety concerns for home food preservation and processing. Students will work hands on in the preparation and processing of a few different foods, however some preliminary preparation may need to be done by the instructor prior to class time. Students will come away with a basic knowledge of canning, where to go for additional information and a jar of what they have helped to can.

Cyanotype Printing Workshop

Grades 9 - ADULT
Cyanotype is a photo process developed in the late 1800's. We will be coating paper with a photosensitive solution to make our exposures with the sun. Exploring both regular and the wet processes will give the participants a variety of prints. This class is a great way to understand how photography was originally used in its inception. Beautiful Indigo blue photo prints are the result of this process.

Clay - Daytime Advanced Pottery

This class is a combination of both hand-building and wheel thrown techniques. Students will learn how to create functional and decorative wares from clay. We will make five projects with hand-building methods, and students will have opportunity to throw pots on the wheel. Decoration with surface textures, handles, and glaze examples will be discussed. Every class we will create different forms, and students will learn how to understand clay's versatility. You will have a chance to throw, trim, and modify a pot. We will explore slab-building, unique stencil form design, and surface decoration with the use of underglazes. After the fifth meeting, your pots will be bisque fired. The last night is left for glazing. If you're interested in taking a clay class and would like to explore your creativity using both hand-building and the wheel, this class may be for you.
