Zentangle from A to Z
with Kay Grogg

Grades 9 - ADULT
The Zentangle Method of drawing is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. In this course, we will start with the beginning steps and move each week to a more advanced project, building on the previous week's lessons. We will work with a variety of Zentangle supplies throughout this class. The instructor, Kay Grogg, is a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) and will guide the class to greater understanding of this method of drawing and how you can use it in your everyday creative practice.

Clay Buddies

Grades K- 2
This entry level clay class is for the youngest of elementary school age children. Each class will be project-based to introduce young children to different clay working techniques. Children will learn planning and decorating techniques to complete projects.

Kids N Clay

Grades 3-5
In this course, students will be exposed to a basic introduction to ceramic techniques designed for elementary school aged children. This class will create fun imaginative pieces which will be a mixture of decorative and functional items. This class includes all materials including clay, glazes, and kiln firing time.

Clay - Surface Techniques in Clay

7th - Adult
This technical class is all about experimenting with different surface techniques to use on clay and pottery. We will use the extruder and slab roller to create practice pieces to explore techniques such as scraffito, positive and negative stencils, carved and imprinted texture, wax and tape resist, and many more. We will also cover how to do shrinkage and absorption test and kiln basics. To finish up this class each participant is encouraged to apply the knowledge gained from the various practice exercises in a final decorative or functional work of their choice. Even though this is class based on technique, no prior clay experience is required.

Elementary Metals

Grades 3-5
Learn to work with metal, cord, and beads, to create unique pieces of jewelry! This class will introduce kids to basic tools like pliers and small hammers, teach simple knotting techniques, and discuss a bit of the properties of different metals. Let's get creative!

Metals for Kids and Teens

Grades 6- 10
This is a great class for kids, grades 6-10, who want to learn about wire wrapping, basic hammer texture, plier use, the properties of different metals, beadwork, and much more! Students will leave with a collection of bracelets, ornaments, earrings, necklaces, and rings as they choose what they would like to create with each process we learn.

Mixed Media Collage

Grade 9- Adult
Explore the possibilities that arise when making art from non-traditional materials, and learn to masterfully blend different mediums together to form a unified artwork. We will consider how collage and assemblage art is "built" like a sculpture on a 2D surface, and a sense of play and experimentation will be encouraged. There will be new options to work from each week, including paper/found images, cardboard, fabric, duct tape, glitter, and more! Subject matter will range from the abstract to the representational. The history of collage as a medium will be discussed, and why it is relevant today. All skill levels welcome!

Acoustic Guitar - Private Lessons - MARCH - All Ages - 60 Min.

All Ages
These 60-minute private lessons are for individuals of all skill levels who are looking for an easy-going, fun environment. Students will learn basic terminology and foundational aspects of playing the guitar, chords, and melodies. Class is less theory and more practical application but can also be adapted to the needs and wants of each student. Students will need to supply their own guitar, strings, and picks. Four one-hour classes, one per week. Sessions will re-start every 4 weeks. You may register for additional sessions at your leisure.
Once you register for the class, you will receive an email or phone call to schedule your day and time for lessons. Four lessons/dates will be scheduled in this series. Lessons will restart each month. Go ahead and register for future months if you wish. There are no refunds or make-ups for missed lessons.
