Simplifying Values for Better Compositions

with Donna Bird

Class has begun

Trying to identify all the colors in a subject you want to paint can seem overwhelming.  For example, the colors in a landscape often look as if they have an infinite range!  The key to success is simplifying the light and dark relationships of the colors.  In this class, we will do simple exercises to help you see these relationships more clearly and achieve more balanced compositions.  In addition, you will also gain a better understanding of how value directly relates to color.  Students may bring their own photos to work with if preferred.

For oil, acrylic, and watercolor painters. Students will bring their own supplies. The supply list will be sent upon registration.
