Grades 9 - ADULT

Rust is not always a good thing, but we will turn it into an art form. We will print on several kinds of paper using rusted metal items as our medium. Once our papers have been dyed/printed, we will create a simple mixed media book to showcase our work. This four-week class teaches an unexpected process using ordinary rusting metal objects revealing there is beauty in just about everything, including rust. We will learn how to get multiple colors from rust including a greenish-blue verdigris. Using collage, stitching, and simple bookmaking techniques we will create our finished project. It's a fun class that lets you think out of the box in the world of mediums for creating!
