Pumpkin/Jack-O-Lantern Decorating Workshop

9th Grade - Adult

During this two-hour workshop, students will be able to explore their creative side by carving and designing their own personal clay pumpkins.  Pumpkin forms will be pre-made.  All students will leave with a beautifully glaze-fired and finished pumpking to enjoy for years to come.  Fired project may be picked up in two weeks after the class.

This workshop may transition to online if the need arises.

Glass Garden Stakes

Grade 9- Adult

A two-hour glass fusion workshop making decorative glass stakes for your garden or house. Each student can make up to four garden stakes.  All materials are included and fired projects will be available two weeks after class.

Mandala Magic Workshop for Kids

Come have fun with the magic of mandalas! Mandalas are circle drawings that are full of possibilities. Students will learn all about mandalas and their radial & symmetrical designs. Students will create different kinds using a variety of materials of their choosing- from stickers to beads to mixed media to sharpies & markers.

Hydroponics - DIY Horizontal Hydroponic System

9th Grade - Adult

Hydroponics is a form of gardening that uses no soil, but instead grows plans in a solution of water and nutrients.  A hydroponic system can grow plants and vegetables faster and year-round.  Plants grown this way usually yield more, require less space, and conserve soil and water.  Students will be taught how to make two different systems in an inexpensive way.  Students will also learn the benefits of various nutrients, and the history of hydroponics.  The amazing thing about this system is that students can continue to expand their garden at home!

Pottery Wheel - Bowls - 2 Day Workshop

Grades 5 -Adult

Enjoy a relaxing two-day workshop creating beautiful bowls! Students will spend the first day on the potter’s wheel creating bowl forms. On day two, students will trim bowls on the wheel and learn decorating techniques. The goal is for each student to accomplish making 3 – 5 ceramic bowls. Masks will be required due to close contact during demonstrations and one-on-one instruction.

Introduction to the Zentangle Method of Drawing

The Zentangle Method of Art is an easy to learn art form that is FUN and RELAXING! Beautiful images can be created by drawing structured patterns. As you become engrossed in the process, your focus becomes, “Zen” like and relaxed, resulting in individually unique masterpieces.  Students must complete this class or have previous Zentangle experience before taking, Working With Tan Tiles."

Ceramic Tray Decorating

Grade 9- Adult

During this two-hour workshop, students will design and decorate a long serving platter. Explore your creative side by adding handles, surface texture, and personal touches. Each dish will be fired and glazed to enjoy for years to come.   Fired projects may be picked up two weeks after class.

Soap Making for Beginners

Calendar Sep 25, 2020 at 6 pm, runs for 1 week

Grade 9 - Adult

In this three-hour workshop students will learn to make homemade soap from scrap soaps, or use a soap bar to mold a new soap.  Natural ingredients will be used to avoid known irritants.  Shred, melt and pour techniques will be taught.  Students will get to choose up to three natural ingredients and up to three fragrances to create fabulous looking and amazing smelling soaps that can be given as gifts, sold, or used for themselves.   The workshop will include use of three fragrances, three natural ingredients and one soap mold.
