Pottery Wheel - Casserole Dish - 2 Day Workshop
with Kara Bledsoe

Grades 5 -Adult
Enjoy a relaxing two-day workshop creating two beautiful casserole dishes! Students will spend the first day on the potter’s wheel creating the casserole forms. On day two, students will assemble dishes and learn decorating techniques. The goal is for each student to accomplish making two casserole dishes. Masks will be required due to close contact during demonstrations and one-on-one instruction.

Ceramic Garden Art Workshop
with Kara Bledsoe

Grade 5- Adult
In this workshop, students will have the option to create a flower stake that can be used decoratively or as a bird feeder or bird bath. Be creative and use it in your garden or home. Projects will be built out of clay by hand and decorated in class. All projects will get a sealing coat of glaze and fully fired to withstand the outside elements.

Casting and Mold Making with Plaster - Workshop
with Jess Parks
Grades9 - Adult
Learn how to make a simple 2-piece plaster mold of a small 3-D, solid item. Each step of the process will be discussed and executed with the instructor’s assistance. After making the mold, wet plaster will then be poured into the cavity, to create your own unique cast. All materials and tools will be supplied.

Pottery Wheel - Mugs - 2 Day Workshop

Grades 5 -Adult
Enjoy a relaxing two-day workshop creating four beautiful mugs! Students will spend the first day on the potter’s wheel creating the mugs. On day two, students will trim mugs and learn decorating techniques. The goal is for each student to accomplish making four mugs. Masks will be required due to close contact during demonstrations and one-on-one instruction.
Tuesday, May 11, and Thursday, May 13.
Teen Pottery Wheel Camp
with Kara Bledsoe

Ages 13 - 18
Class Limit: 6 students
In this "teen only" class, students will learn to use the potter’s wheel by making basic bowl, mug, and vessel shapes. Our goal is for each student to produce five projects that will go home with them to enjoy or give as gifts.
Registration fee includes materials including clay and glazes, supplies, snack, and a camp t-shirt!
Projects need time to dry and will be fired in a kiln. Therefore, final projects will be available for pick up approximately 2 weeks after camp. The McKinney Center and camp instructors will notify parents when items are ready.
June 7, 8, 9, 10, 11

Butterfly Garden Sculpture Workshop
with Kara Bledsoe

All ages welcome! Children under age 12 should register with an adult.
Class Limit: 8
In this one-time workshop, students will make a beautiful butterfly using clay. Students will learn basic clay hand-building techniques to make this long-lasting work of art that can be used in the yard, garden, or home.
This is a great workshop to do with your children, family, and friends! The class will take place in the McKinney Center's spacious auditorium with a maximum of 8 students.
There will be a 30 minute break so bring a bag lunch and snacks!
Registration fee includes all supplies, concrete, etc. Students should bring an old hand towel or kitchen towel. Students should wear clothing and shoes that you don't mind getting messy!

All ages welcome! Children ages 12 and under should register with an adult.
Class Limit: 8 students
In this one-time workshop, students will learn to build their very own party platter using hand-building clay techniques. This class will take place in the McKinney Center's spacious auditorium with a maximum of 8 participants. Sign up with your family and friends and have some creative fun!
There will be a 30 minute break so bring a bag lunch and snacks!
Registration fee includes all supplies, clay, glazes, two kiln firings, etc. Students should bring an old hand towel or kitchen towel. We will provide aprons but students can bring their own and wear clothing and shoes that you don't mind getting messy!
