Mountain Dulcimer - Private Lessons - SEPTEMBER - Kids & Teens - 30 Min.

These 30-minute private lessons are for individuals of all skill levels who are looking to learn the dulcimer or expand upon what they already know. Students will learn the basics of the dulcimer, as well as more advanced techniques tailored to everyone's needs. The material covered will explore playing melodies and chords, using different tunings, and techniques to further develop playing. Takes place in the Broyles Building.
Students will need to supply their own dulcimer, strings, and picks.
Four classes, one per week. Sessions will re-start every 4 weeks. You may register for additional sessions at your leisure.
Once you register for the class, you will receive an email or phone call to schedule your day and time for lessons. Four lessons/dates will be scheduled in this series. Lessons will restart each month.
Go ahead and register for future months if you wish. There are no refunds or make-up for missed lessons.

Gyrokinesis ® - Adult Fitness

Gyrokinesis® is an exercise system that moves the body through all three dimensions. With the use of breath, students build coordination and flexibility to create a global sense of well-being. Movements focus on the plasticity and the support of the spine to help the overall function of the muscles and organs. Gyrokinesis® can be both dynamic and relaxing. Each class of Gyrokinesis® will leave you feeling light and better aligned. Students need to come to class in comfortable clothing and a yoga mat. Gyrokinesis® is performed barefoot or in sock feet.

Dance Discovery - Children's Dance

Ages 6 - 8 (ages are flexible with instructor's permission)
Dance Discovery is an introductory course that provides children with a space to learn confidence through movement. Students will experiment with improvisation, spatial awareness, and basic techniques of ballet and modern dance. This course is designed to help the child explore expression in an organized movement class, equipping them for potential future dance classes.
Students should come to class in a black leotard and black tights. Students will dance barefoot.

Modern Dance for Beginners

Ages 9 - 11
Children of this age have better coordination and control of their limbs. Class allows them to develop these skills in a more structured approach; students will begin to master rhythm and across-the-floor exercises.
Students should come to class in a black leotard and black tights. Students will dance barefoot.

Intermediate Drawing

Strengthen your drawing skills with this intermediate‑level class focused on gesture, visual measuring, shading, and creating depth. Working in graphite and charcoal, you’ll learn clear, step‑by‑step methods for building form and bringing objects to life. A great next step for anyone ready to grow beyond the basics.

Straight Back Woven Chair

We will be discussing the life and history of the straight back chair. Once you choose your chair we will talk about the material and tools that will be used. We will learn how to read and follow the pattern. Students will be given hands-on help from the instructor.
This will be a six-hour class. The chair, materials, as well as the tools will be provided.

Beginner Copier Zines
with Sage Perrott
Ages: 15 - Adult
Learn how to make your own zine on the copier in this one day beginner workshop. Students will be shown zine-making fundamentals, including several copier friendly folds and basic design techniques to create a color zine in multiple. For those new to the medium, a zine is a self published piece of ephemera, typically in pamphlet or booklet form that can cover any number of topics and include a wide variety of imagery. All skill levels welcome.
